Oh wow. We had apt this past Friday to do walkthrough since they'd emptied all the showroom furniture out and patched all the wall holes from the pictures.
We got to look for 'deficiencies' and they will fix them. The construction mgr told us about a bunch of cool features the building/suite has.
The fridge has a beeper alarm if you accidentally leave the door ajar. The bathroom fans have special hidden timers you can set for how long you want the fans to stay on to dehumidify the air. There is a fancy round air intake vent to bring in outside air even if windows are shut.
A funny thing was when I couldn't get the toilet tank lid back on (don't ask why I lifted it up - ha ha ha). How embarrassing. The funny part was that I mentioned how the fashion nowadays is to have no toilet paper holders and people buy those stands I hate so much. The guy was astonished and said that there actually were supposed to be holders and they just forgot to install them after moving out the demo furniture. He commented that they don't install them in show suites because people 'use' the toilets if there's toilet paper avail. Ha ha ha. LOL.
He also showed us the fire bell pull INSIDE our suite. How weird, eh? New bld code dictates all exits to outside must have a pull so person leaving due to fire can pull alarm as leave instead of going back into hallway, potentially into fire, to pull alarm.
A hilarious thing - to me - also was when he showed us the garbage room. He said, as he recounted aloud the 27 suites in the building, that we'd only be responsible to put the bins out every 27th garbage day. I groaned, "Agh! ... Not again! I was so glad to escape that when we moved from our last place!"
Well, ... he was stunned. He'd been joking! The joke was In him! LMAO! He'd NEVER heard of a place where people pull the bins individually. Ha ha ha. Her hee her. It tickled me so much at the time! Oh, man did I belly-laugh! Still makes me grin and snicker! Snort!
What else?
The garborator [sp?] is nearly silent. we get 1 yr free cable & Internet. The electric fireplace (electric? Tee hee, how 70s) has a remote control. They removed the dining rm light fixture completely! - but said they'd install whatever we buy. (We dashed out and bought one! Ha ha).
... Hmmm.
I can't remember any more, but it took over an hour and thrilled me to bits!
I CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE IN! I am so excited! Moving day is Thurs July 18.
THRILLED ... THRILLED ... THRILLED!
:-D
