Hmmm. What to preface the photos with? Well, it was 26 celsius out. Hot! Awesome. This is foliage from redwoods. Looks so much like huge version of our own Western Hemlock trees. The bark looks just like western red cedar... But it's spongy. Very bizarre. Redwoods are a sequoia. And native to this area since it gets so foggy. They need the fog and moisture. They can suck water out of it.
Still on spring break 2015. Didn't take too many pics today and many are blurry. We don't stop the bike or ride to take photos. I just snap click on the fly. We met up with a friend from down here whom we met our first time down. Here are some pics: We ate at "Parishes" restaurant. It was just sub-sandwiches that they call Po-boys. We got a blackened Cajun catfish one. It was the BEST SANDWICH EVER!! . The homemade bread was ultra crisp on top but melt in your mouth after the crunch. Just amazing. And then the dish ...&sauce ...& pickle and everything. So yum y y.
Well here are a few pix I managed to snap. Just the day's snapshots to show u. There are 20 more on 'real' camera, but I'm too lazy to go upload them just yet. Maybe later. Took a bunch of photos on 'real' camera. Of course, too lazy to go to lobby computer to upload them. Too busy enjoying wine from Rutherford ranch winery. Here is the day in pix OMG what a day 1 of Spr! We were driving down hwy 5 about 10 minutes south of border and we saw a car coming toward us on oncoming lane. No problemo except that it was a divided hwy?!!! and vehicle was going wrong way on wrong side TOWARD US! Hmmm. I was mostly oblivious. Sleepy-groggy. (Did I mention that it was 4am?). So once car passed, Clint n I looked at each other and had to confirm what we'd just seen. 30 seconds later a police car came down correct side with lights ablaze!! So bizarre. We just gape-mouthed. :-o After that was smooth sailing till Seattle where we missed a turn and ended up on I-405!! Whoops!! Clinty got diacbublates. Suscbobulates Discombobulated ... But our GPS machine sorted us out quickly. In case u don't know, Seattle is a maze of x-crossing hwys. No surprise to get mixed up ---even if this the 7th time we've done this trip. :-D Got to Ashland around 2:45 pm. Pretty good since we were up n driving at 4 am. (Time change day! So really it was 3 am!!). Not at my most gorgeous- shall we say. LOL. Here's a driving pic and some deer we met in Ashland. |
